Step Inside: Medical Market Access

Learn why Kate Kahr, Senior Therapy Specialist at Gilead, attended last week’s Market Access course.

The Dynamics of the Danish Healthcare System

Last week we hosted the Medical Market Access course with focus on the political healthcare sector.

The 3-day course is a balanced mix of theory and background knowledge combined with hands on experience from industry experts. Also, the course is an opportunity to network with peers in the industry which our participants keep telling us is almost as important as updating their competencies.

One of the lecturers at the course, Mille Holst, Head of Value, Access and Policy at Amgen, shared her personal experiences from a long career of working with public affairs. She talked about the importance of having a public affairs strategy and why you should plan your public affairs activities. Another key message was that there is no quick fix – public affairs is a long-term effort and it can never stand alone.

The course is designed to give participants a detailed understanding of the dynamics of the Danish healthcare system.

Kate Kahr, Senior Therapy Specialist at Gilead, attended last week’s Market Access course. She is driven by a personal commitment to stay up to date. For both herself and her employer lifelong learning is a major priority:

”In Gilead we say  that you either evolve or dissolve. There is no steady state. At Atrium I always get an opportunity to expand my network and meet new people. And I think the speakers are highly skilled and relevant,” says Kate.
